The Jets' candidate list just grew to six, with former Dolphins head coach Adam Gase as the newest addition.
Gase was fired on Monday after going 23-25 in Miami over the past three seasons, but has quickly become one of the more popular candidates for the NFL’s eight coaching vacancies. Gase interviewed with the Cardinals on Wednesday and will speak with the Jets on Friday, according to ESPN’s Jeff Darlington.
On the surface, Gase’s record with the Dolphins isn’t all that impressive. But he did lead the Dolphins to the playoffs in his first season breaking a seven-year drought, then had to steer an offense led by quarterback Jay Cutler – who came out of retirement to take the job – in 2017 after Ryan Tannehill went down injured.
