Washington Wizards All-Star point guard John Wall will undergo season-ending surgery on his left heel soon, and it looks like Wall is making the right decision by getting the surgery now.

John Wall told Chris Miller of NBC Sports Washington that doctors told him if he kept playing on the injury, there was a chance he could have ruptured his Achilles tendon.

“There’s a slight chance that if I keep playing on it and make it worse and worse I could rupture my whole Achilles,” Wall said.

John Wall has been dealing with bone spurs in his left heel for years now. The former No. 1 overall pick says it has mostly been a pain tolerance thing in past seasons, but that this year, it was affecting his ability to run and sometimes even walk.
