Tom Brady: I am not a big stat guy; I am into wins

WEEI Boston

It was a very serious week inside the Gillette Stadium facility, much more so than in recent weeks.

And for good reason, the Patriots can clinch a first-round bye with a win over the Jets.

Speaking Friday, Tom Brady acknowledged the team hasn't thought of anything beyond this week's game.

“Just playing well this week has been the focus and anything beyond that, we haven’t even talked about, for good reason," he said. "I’ve always said it is tough to win a game and this is a tough one. We have to focus on this 100 percent, which we have. And just be prepared to go out and play our best. A good 60-minute game is still out there for us, and that is what we’re working to do. This will be a good time to do it.”

New England has had a first-round bye in eight straight seasons.

The 41-year-old was also asked about stats and what mean most to him, but Brady didn't have one — it's all about wins.
