Todd Bowles was not happy with the referees Sunday.
The Jets were called for 16 penalties, which totaled 172 yards, in their 44-38 overtime loss to Green Bay at MetLife Stadium. Bowles, New York’s fourth-year coach, blasted the officials when he met with reporters after the game.
“I can explain some of (the penalties), I can’t explain all of them,” Bowles said, via The Athletic. “It was one of those games. I haven’t seen one like that in my 18, 19 years in the league.
“I thought we were playing two teams. I thought we were playing the Packers and the striped shirts.”]
The Jets led by 15 at the end of the third quarter but the Packers rallied in the final frame and took the lead with 1:12 to play.
