The Giants signed ambidextrous reliver Pat Venditte on Friday, giving manager Bruce Bochy a different level of matchup possibilities in the bullpen.
Venditte signed a one-year major-league contract and will be on the 40-man roster.
The switch-pitcher posted a 2.57 ERA in 15 outings last season with the Dodgers, and he’ll be reunited with Farhan Zaidi, the Giants’ president of baseball operations who had been the Dodgers’ general manager.
