Former Louisville coach Rick Pitino is finalizing a deal that will make him the next head coach of Panathinaikos, a EuroLeague team based in Athens, Greece, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.

Panathinaikos fired its coach, Xavi Pascual, after two seasons on Thursday. Pascual led the team to two straight Greek League titles in 2017 and 2018. The team, though, has lost five of its last seven games.
