The Padres remain active in the free-agent market this offseason as they reportedly are interested in the best remaining pitcher on the board.
According to The Athletic, San Diego wants to sign left-hander Dallas Keuchel, but at the moment, his price is too high for the team.
Keuchel won the American League Cy Young Award in 2015 and has thrown at least 200 innings in three of his last five seasons. He has a career 3.66 ERA.
And he is a Scott Boras client so he is likely to cost quite a bit.
