Kentucky sophomore guard Quade Green, a former five-star recruit who has played in 43 games over parts of two seasons, is transferring, the university announced Wednesday.
"This was a difficult decision and one I didn't take lightly," Green said in statement. "However, after talking with my family and the coaching staff, I just felt like it was best that I explore other opportunities for my athletic and academic future. I have enjoyed my time at Kentucky and I'll never forget the Big Blue Nation for its love and its support."
Green will be allowed to transfer to any school without restrictions, per NCAA rules.
Rated the No. 26 player in the nation in the class of 2017, per 247Sports Composite, he was considered the No. 5 point guard in his recruiting class.
